Mural Mosaic


This MRU centennial project will leave a lasting legacy for all community members to enjoy — a massive mural mosaic, comprised of 180 panels, that depict many significant people and stories connected to Mount Royal over the past 100 years.


Lead artist Lewis Lavoie designed the mural and created the base panels for the artists to work from.


Each artist works on a panel that has been painted with the suggested background colours, but the artist does not know what the larger mural image is. For example, in the Paul Brandt portrait below, the arc that represents his guitar is a blue background wave that Judy incorporated as a link to the overall mural.


The mosaic will be unveiled November 23, 2011.
