“The look on Dave Marshall’s face said it all. As Provost and Vice-President Academic Robin Fisher unveiled a Judy Trafford portrait of Marshall, depicting our president the day Mount Royal became a university, his jaw dropped, his eyes widened and he clapped enthusiastically.”

In 2010 Judy began her “Bizarre Bird Bazaar” series of acrylics which includes “Avocets At Tea.” This series, she says, begins with “the fun that is included in the title.”
The series will be a solo exhibition in The Crowsnest Pass Public Art Gallery in the spring of 2013.
Typically, the paintings depict wild birds that have accidentally strayed into an unexpected human experience. Introducing the birds’ wild behaviours - such as the avocets’ shoreline search for food – into an urban setting creates drama and, most often, a smile.
